Impersonating a nurse is a felony in some states, how is this allowed??
Jerretta Foster, RN, AAS
Should be a felony in all states just like impersonating an officer of the law. As a nurse you are responsible for the lives of the people you take care of. I worked hard to get specialized training and continue to update that training yearly to continue practicing my profession. I want to know that the nurses caring for my family, friends or myself are trained appropriately because I am trusting them with the life of my loved ones. A governing body that oversees and ensures that every person practicing nursing is a safety net for the public. As a nurse SAFETY for our patients and protecting those lives is our utmost responsibility. So yeah it angers me as a nurse, that someone would deliberately put the lives of people in jeopardy to impersonate a nurse and should be punishable by law as a FELONY!!!!.
